Madam, We were very sorry to hear about the death of Councillor John Edwards. John was a wonderfully funny, generous and warm hearted man and was known to hundreds of people in Ross and beyond. In his capacity as a Town Councillor since 2007, he was a leading light on so many issues and was a very effective and active Mayor in 2009/10. Despite recent ill health, his mind was razor sharp right to the end and we feel so lucky that we got to know John and were able to work with him over the last seven years. His loss will be felt not just by the Town Council but also by the many other organisations that he was involved with and for whom he was a mainstay, such as the Ross Town Plan, the Screen at the Phoenix, the Sports Federation and Age Concern. Our condolences go to his wife Sue and the rest of the family.
