Cocoa, a new computer club for older adults has been set up by Des Auld of Logiplex. He is passionate about computers and modern technology himself but realises that there are a great many people who are scared or frustrated by them.
He set up the new club to help the over 50s and the launch party was very well attended by many people including the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and other Councillors. They all agreed that the club sounded as if it was just what many people needed. In fact one guest, Jill Ursell signed up on the spot.
Joyce Thomas, MBE, DL said she was delighted to attend the launch. She said:?"I know that Des, whose initiative this was is a true professional and has a great knowledge of computers. There is already much interest and I wish him and his team every success."
Cocoa offers visits from a technician if there is a fault, it can help with installing new hardware and will give telephone assistance to help with the running of your system.
A series of seminars will be held covering a whole range of topics including basic computer use, creating photo albums, on-line transactions, using Ebay and Skype.
