Recently a car collided with mine as I was driving past the Chase Hotel up the hill, towards Ross town centre.

My car was undriveable, as was the gentleman’s vehicle who was coming towards me, so the road was blocked.

An extremely kind witness, whom I did not thank at the time, called the police, who were at the scene within minutes. I am so grateful to you, whoever you are.

I also wish to express my thanks to the police for their help and assistance, in particular Kirsten Bowkett, whose care and support was of great comfort to me, as well as the concerned paramedic who was in attendance.

Too often police and paramedics receive bad press – on this occasion, in most unfortunate circumstances they were outstanding, professional and efficient in every respect. I cannot thank them enough.
