THE water leak in Broad Street in Ross-on-Wye has now been fixed and the road is once again open to traffic.

The incident began on Wednesday afternoon January 28, close to The Maltings. Contractors for Welsh Water arrived at the site and undertook various repairs throughout the night.

The result was that Broad Street had to be completely closed from the Market House to Kyrle Street until lunchtime on Thursday, January 29.

A spokesman for Dwr Cymru Welsh Water said : “We carried out a repair on a water main in Broad Street in Ross last night. A small number of customers were taken off supply for a short time so the repair could be done safely.

“A crew is back this morning (Thursday, January 29) to reinstate the road so the closure can be lifted at lunchtime.

“We would like to apologise for any disruption.”
