Starting this Saturday, March 20th, and running until Saturday March 27th, the forthcoming production by the Phoenix Theatre company is the classic 1970s comedy Lloyd George Knew My Father written by William Douglas Home.

When Lady Boothroyd hears that the planning authorities are determined to keep to their decision to drive a road through the grounds of her estate she announces her intention to kill herself the precise moment the bulldozers start their shameful work.

At first disbelieving, the family at length realise to their horror that this is no joke. All means of persuasion fail and as the hour strikes the bulldozer's roar is heard!

Ann Stirrup is Lady Boothroyd playing opposite Howard Owen as Sir William Boothroyd. Both new to the Phoenix are Bogdan Florea as the young reporter and Les Davis as the vicar. The other cast members are Robin Haig, Amanda Smith, Rhiannon Kearns and Dave Thomson. The play is directed by Gordon Brigg.

Tickets at £7.50 are now on sale and are available through the Phoenix Theatre box office on 01989 564570 (10.30am -12.30pm), the Heritage Centre on 01432 260675 (10.30am - 4.00pm), or online at http://www.phoenix-theatre.org.uk">www.phoenix-theatre.org.uk
