MADAM, I would like to express my appreciation of the wonderful May Fayre on Saturday 12th. It was an event that showcased the town, while giving local crafts people like myself, the opportunity to sell their products.

Although I am aware that events such as this are organised by a small committee, it seemed that the whole community entered into the spirit of the occasion. Visitors to the town articulated their enjoyment of the range and variety of the entertainment programme.

A special mention should be made of David MacGregor and the ART team for the hard work they had to do in addition to running their own businesses. I am glad to see that members of the council and ART are not prepared to let our lovely town turn into a boarded-up, High Street wilderness, but are taking actions which should raise the profile of Ross-on-Wye.
