A crowd of well-wishers and supporters from St Mary’s Church, gathered on Monday, September 28th, to wave goodbye to Chris Bartrum, a Ross-on-Wye Town Councillor, who was about to set off on his 250 mile charity bike ride.

During the week, Cllr Bartrum cycled to and from every St Mary’s Church in Herefordshire, and also payed a visit to Hereford Cathedral.

Cllr Bartrum took a total of six days to visit 42 churches in the county. The bike ride is in aid of the Friends of St Mary’s Church in Ross.

Cllr Bartrum told the Ross Gazette: “I’m delighted to be doing a sponsored bike ride to support the friends of St Mary’s, because they were a big source of support to me when I was Mayor.”
