Speeding at more than 70mph on the northern by-pass around Gloucester has cost a Ross-on-Wye man £720, as well as six penalty points on his licence.

Paul Riddick of Bedford Way, Hildersley, Ross, pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court to driving a BMW M2 coupe with a personal number plate at speeds in excess of 70mph on the A40 from Over towards Elmbridge Court on 11th November last year.

He was fined £450 with six points endorsed on his licence and ordered to pay £90 costs and a £180 surcharge.
