After a day of detective work The Ross Gazette has finally discovered who is behind the new Twitter fan page @DaveThroupFans set up in support of Environment Agency Manager for Herefordshire and Worcestershire, Dave Throup. The page has reached 880 followers in just 24 hours. A keen eye and a few probing questions later we can exclusively reveal that local Counciillor Andrew Atkinson is the man behind the page.
Talking exclusively to The Ross Gazette Cllr Atkinson told us "Dave does his job exceptionally well, and goes above and beyond the call of duty. Communication is key these days and as local Councillors we find the advice and information he provides invaluable. It allows us to know what is going to happen in our ward areas with river levels, and allows us to act promptly should we need to." Cllr Atkinson told us that he started the Twitter page to "show appreciation for him and his team, both seen and unseen." He continued "We can be too quick to point the finger when things are not done properly but this is an opportunity to thank and appreciate those public servants who work tirelessly for all of us."
