The Annual Championship Finals and Trophy Presentation Day at Ross Golf provided members with many interesting Cup finals to enjoy and none more than when David Whitehead was aiming to retain the Trevor Lane Cup for Seniors that he won in 2010. To achieve this objective, David needed to get the better of Ross Seniors Captain Doug David, after they reached the final of the knock-out event which began in April with 70 members taking part and with both supporting a 12 handicap, a well matched confrontation was expected and so it proved. In the initial stages Doug managed to retain a slender advantage and was 1 up after 9 holes, and it was not until the 14 hole that David nudged ahead for the first time in the match. Once with the ascendancy, David needed no second opportunity and his secure finish meant a 1 up win and represented another successful season for David, in which he also was a shared winner of the Club's Annual Layton Cup for Seniors with Gordon Brigg when they both finished with a 120 points overall score.
Another Cup double was enjoyed by Kevin D'Lonra, when partnering Richard Moore in the Final of the Club's Annual Maclean Trophy in a match which was settled on the 19th green as they just got the better of Dave Ruff and Andy Stephens. Kevin would also have collected the Traders Cup at the Presentation Ceremony and Andy Stephens had the consolation of receiving the Club's Annual Collins Cup and Flag Trophy.
The Club's highly successful Junior section was well represented with Juniors Captain, Jake Howells securing a 3/2 win over Jacob Wild on the day to take the Bob Beavis Knock-out Cup, Harry Butler was awarded the prize for the Most Improved player of the year and Henry Tilling received the Brian Huggett Trophy as the most improved Junior member and also the A D Evans Cup. Jake Wild will have been delighted to have won the Junior Order of Merit award to go with the Adult/Junior Cup he won with partner Gwynne Morgan. There were also individual Cup wins for James O'Connor, David Tookey and Rory Gunning
Warren Darrell was another Ross member in strong demand for his highly successful golfing season was reflected in him collecting the Centenary Cup, the Autumn Scratch Medal for the best gross score of the day and with Steve Price, the George Griffiths Cup.
