Those who have heard the Dean of Hereford, the Very Reverend Michael Tavinor, speak will be familiar with his ecclesiastical eloquence. Few, however, will have heard him talk publicly about his many and varied interests away from the church.

But for one evening next month, the Dean will regale those gathered at All Saints Church in Hereford during an evening of music and laughter.

“I hope it will be a very light-hearted evening,” said the Dean. “I like to focus on the quirky side of life. I was brought up around music from an early age. So, I will play music from my childhood and music of significance to me.”

The Dean hopes the evening which will appeal to those of both sacred and secular backgrounds.

He said:?“I like to think we at the Cathedral have a good relationship with St Michael’s through the Light up a Life service held here each year and the Open Gardens in the Deanery and Canons’ garden earlier this year.

‘My own experience with St Michael’s is very positive thanks to the care they have given family, friends and parishioners. I’ve always been highly impressed by the high level of care.’

The evening will take place on Friday, November 3rd in the ever-popular Café @ All Saints, Hereford and will include a two-course supper. Visit st-michaels-hospice.org.uk/events for more information or to puchase tickets.
