It has been reported that Terrance Dale Griffin, who was born in Ross-on-Wye and was best known as the drummer with Mott the Hoople, has died. He had been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s and was living in a care home.

Griffin was a founder member of the glam rock band which had a string of hits in the 1970s and topped the charts with the Bowie track All the Young Dudes.

He played in nightclubs in his Ross home when he was starting his career.
