Ross-on-Wye Town and Herefordshire County Councillor, Jenny Hyde, died on Monday, February 11th, and her fellow Town Councillors were informed after their Town Council meeting that evening.

Councillor Hyde has been a member of Herefordshire Council, and has she has also served as a Ross Town Councillor several times, most recently when she was elected to represent the North Ward in 2015.

Prayers were said at the meeting on Monday, February 11th for her recovery and best wishes were sent to her family. Many Councillors expressed their shock at the news of her death.MP Jesse Norman said: "Very sad news indeed that Councillor Jenny Hyde of Ross-on-Wye passed away last night. "Jenny was very widely admired and respected in Herefordshire. I am proud to have known her, to have supported her and to have had her support, for the last thirteen years. Rest in peace."
