In October half term, local artist, Mary Deaville ran a doodle competition in Ross-on-Wye for residents and visitors, and she has now announced the winners.

At the event, Mary gave free tuition to all age groups, teaching people how to draw doodle designs, similar to the ones featured in the ever-popular adult colouring books.

Once the budding artists had some practice, they could then purchase a mini card for £1, where they drew their doodle designs to enter the competition.

Mary told the Ross Gazette:?“I wish to thank the residents of Ross-on-Wye and surrounding area for entering my Deaville’s Doodle Design Competition.”

There were 32 entries altogether and the winners are:

6-8 Age Group: Joshua Bracey, visiting from France and Shelbi Jones, aged 6

9-16 Age Group: Clara Martinez, aged 10 and Ela Collins, aged 9

Category 17-102: Jenny Cavender and Karoline Bracey, visiting from France.

Mary said: “I will be contacting the winners and giving them the choice of either a voucher of a hour tuition from myself, or a voucher to spend online with the Society of All Artists, to the value of £10.”

She added:?“I will be launching a new doodle competition in Easter, so get doodling!”
