An ongoing communition via Twitter between members of the Ross Community Litter Clean Up Crew and Morrisons supermarket from last year is continuing into the New Year.

On December 9th the group tweeted Morrisons with the suggestion that they purchased a bin for the staff to put their cigarette ends in.

“@Morrisons Ross pleeeeeze buy your staff a present for Xmas - a bin for their cigarette ends! #BinTheButt @KeepBritainTidy”

Someone from Morrisons replied asking which store they were referring to.

The RCLCUC responded with the details and the fact that they have tried to speak to someone at the store.“Ross Community Litter Picker? @rclcuc_ 10 Dec 2018 Ross on Wye - we have tried numerous times to speak to the store to get something changed and have picked regularly around there to support them.”

On December 10th Sammi replied that she had passed on the information to the store manager and she said that they are looking into it so that it does not happen again.

Unfortunately on January 7th when the RCLCUC checked they saw that although the path had been swept the cigarrete ends had just been pushed off the path but were still on the ground.

“Ross Community Litter Pickers @rclcuc_ Checked today & butts have been swept - from your concrete walkway into the grass beside!! Doesn’t really count as clearing up does it? Support your lovely staff & give them some bins/buckets please.”
