A leading member of the Ross-on-Wye group which works constantly to clean up the town was disgusted when she recently took a walk through St Mary's Churchyard.

She told the Ross Gazette that she collected 17 bags of dog mess on Saturday, December 8th.

Wendy Salter, a member of the Ross Community Litter Clean Up Crew, had decided to have a pre-Christmas litter pick in the Garden of Remembrance and the Prospect but was unable to reach the Prospect due to the amount of litter and sacks of dog mess she had to collect. She cannot understand why anyone would throw a bag of dog mess from the Prospect so that it falls onto old graves

She said: "It is totally disrespectful to the deceased and their families, and the town in general.

She added: "This is not something which has built up over a long period as this area is often litter-picked by myself and others, the Brownies have done it twice this year."
