Last month, Brampton Abbotts CE Primary School in Ross-on-Wye, had a visit from Ofsted and the headteacher, staff and governors were delighted with the result. This was some four and a half years after its last ‘Good’ inspection in 2013.

The inspector, who spent one day with the school, confirmed that Brampton Abbotts continued to be a very ‘Good’ school – and had made some significant improvements since its last inspection.

The overwhelmingly positive letter from Ofsted, a consequence of a one-day inspection, highlighted a significant number of positives. These included: “Pupils are happy in school and make strong progress over time, across the curriculum. This reflects the school’s vision statement that ‘happiness is created by achievement and achievement is created by happiness’.”

Dan Brearey, Headteacher of both Brampton Abbotts and Bridstow Primary School, told the Ross Gazette: “We are so very proud of how our wonderful little school continues to thrive and benefit all the children that attend the school. This letter is a clear recognition of all the hard work and dedication that goes in."See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
