A busy autumn term saw several Hereford Sixth Form College records broken with Mathematics students achieving 15 gold, 28 silver and 34 bronze awards in this year’s UK Mathematics Trust Senior Mathematics Challenge.
This year has also seen record numbers of students applying to the most competitive universities. A grand total of 79 students put their applications in to Oxford and Cambridge and for medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine courses – an increase of 58% over last year.
The Netball Academy’s first team had a fantastic start to their 2017-18 season by winning back-to-back silverware on their first two outings. The College’s Netball Academy goes from strength-to-strength and this year has almost 80 students signed on; the largest number in the Academy’s short history.
In a first for the College, History students visited Moscow and St Petersburg. Highlights included Red Square, the Kremlin, the Red Army and Great Patriotic War Museums in Moscow and the Winter Palace and Yusupov Palace in St Petersburg – scene of the murder of Rasputin.
This is just a snapshot of what fantastic opportunities are available to students alongside their studies. If you’re interested in finding out more, why not drop in during our next open event on Saturday, February 10th 2018 (9.30am – 12.30pm).
This will be an ideal opportunity to take a look around and see what may be on offer.
