Parent Maria Greaves took her horse, Ben, to school last week to inspire the pupils creative writing.

Maria and Ben visited Kings Caple Academy School to help Class 3 write their own poems based on The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. Maria told the pupils lots of interesting facts about horses and showed them how a horse moves when it canters and trots.

Later in the week, class 3 had a visit from Roaming Reptiles, based in Ross-on-Wye, as part of their rainforest topic in geography.

The children were able to hold pythons, cockroaches, giant tortoises, blue tongued skinks and giant millipedes. Dave, from the company, was able to share his expert knowledge with the pupils. They all enjoyed the opportunity to get close to these exotic creatures.
