Parents, carers, staff and children celebrated Harvest at Brampton Abbotts CE Primary school in Ross-on-Wye, with a service that filled the School hall. The service featured a wonderful display of produce that parents and carers donated on the day.

The service gave all of the classes an opportunity to share some of the work they had been doing about Harvest, and gave thanks for what they have.

Highlights included, wonderful singing from children in Rowling Class singing ‘Food Glorious Food,’ a very cute singing performance from the youngest class, Inkpen Class, and some wonderful poetry reading and choral speaking.

Following the service, Year 5 and 6 children, supported by the PTFA, put together food packs that they later delivered to some of the elderly and vulnerable families in the local area. The non-perishable goods being shared with local charity, The Ross Food Larder.

Mr Brearey, Headteacher, commented: “We are incredibly thankful for the generous donations from our School community and the generosity of our PTFA in offering their time to take donations around the local area.

“The service is always an excellent opportunity for our children and school community to reflect upon how lucky we are in this country with the abundance of food that we have and to appreciate those families and countries that have a greater need.”

The service ended with an enthusiastic rendition of Cauliflowers Fluffy by the whole School and staff.
