Gorsley Goffs School had four special visitors at their Uganda Link assembly on Wednesday, November 29th, Gareth Hughes, Paul Flitney and former pupils Emma and Sarah.

In October, 62 Key Stage Two children enjoyed a sleepover in the school hall and raised £500 to help fund their link school – St Michael’s School in Namutumba.

Mr Hughes, who is part of the Ross-on-Wye link team, came to the assembly to receive the money raised on behalf of the St Michael’s. He will be going to Namutumba next week and will present the money to the school.

In addition, the school is also able to donate some football shirts. Ross Juniors has just received a new football kit. As a result, Mr Flitney, a Ross Juniors’ coach, suggested the old kit could be taken to Namutumba by John Kyrle High School Sixth form students during their visit, next July.

Emma and Sarah told the Gorsley Goffs pupils that they will take the shirts and distribute them appropriately.
