NEWENT Community School and Sixth Form Centre celebrates its best Sixth Form results in recent years, while students across the Forest continue to discover theirs.

The Newent school said the results showed improvements across all key performance metrics, and the results reflect the hard work, determination and resilience of its Year 13 students.

Many students have secured places at their first-choice universities, while others have chosen to pursue apprenticeships. Several students are also moving directly into employment or taking gap years before beginning the next stage of their education, training or careers.

Ian McCarthy, Director of Sixth Form, said: "We are incredibly proud of every one of our Year 13 students. These are the best results we have seen in recent years, and the improvements across all key metrics are a fantastic reflection of the hard work, resilience and commitment our students have demonstrated throughout their time in our Sixth Form.

“They have embraced every opportunity available to them and have consistently demonstrated the HEART values that underpin everything we do at Newent Sixth Form. Whether our students are progressing to university, apprenticeships or employment, we know they leave us with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed.

“We wish every one of them the very best for the future and look forward to following their continued achievements."

The school said its Year 13 students achieved an excellent set of results across a wide range of subjects, with students making strong progress and achieving outcomes that provide them with a range of exciting opportunities for their next steps.

Ben Dumayne, Headteacher, said: "I would like to thank our dedicated teaching and support staff for the care, expertise and encouragement they provide every day. I would also like to thank parents and carers for the invaluable support they have given our students throughout the last two years. These results are a shared achievement and reflect the strength of our whole school community.

"We are delighted to see such strong results from this year’s Year 13 cohort. The progress made across all key measures is a significant achievement and reflects the commitment of our students and staff. It also shows the strong improvement journey that our amazing school is on.

“We look forward to hearing about the continued success of this year’s leavers and welcoming them back in the future as valued members of the Newent Community School alumni."
