John Kyrle High School’s Sixth Form has, once again, been graded in the top 10% nationally for Advanced level results.
This latest recognition capped a superb year for Post-16 education at the Ross-on-Wye school, after OFSTED confirmed the “outstanding” grade for the Sixth Form at JKHS earlier in 2017.
The ALPS organisation collects data from schools across England and Wales. This enables them to grade each Sixth Form on its examination performance. Of particular note are the continued high number of top grades of A*, A and B which this year, once again, exceeded 60%.
Rob Wallace, Head of Sixth Form said: “The staff and students at JKHS are incredibly proud of the Sixth Form. High quality teaching, motivated young people and supportive parents have enabled us to perform at the very highest levels nationally”.
These results were especially satisfying given the changing Advanced level landscape with many courses last year among the new, more-rigorous examinations.
Nigel Griffiths, Headteacher commented: “JKHS continues to help young people achieve the very best standards and send them on to ambitious futures in higher education, apprenticeships and training.”
