Ross Library Development Group held another of their monthly events on November 1 with not just one but eight speakers.
The talented and lively group of “Marcher Authors on Tour” featured eight published authors who between them cover a range of genres. These included: historic romance, sci-fi, biography, and crime.
Each gave a short tantalising reading from one of their books then there was a chance for the audience to ask questions, followed by a market-place which provided a chance for people to chat with the individual authors.
One of the Marcher authors, Margaret Iggulden, thanked the library group for hosting the evening and said: “It was absolutely wonderful and we all thoroughly enjoyed being there with you and the lovely audience. There were such insightful questions and a splendid ‘button holing’ time afterwards.”
Clare Llewellyn West, chair of the Ross Library Development Group was delighted that the evening went so well despite the November downpour, and urged the audience to return on the first Tuesday in December for an evening with Dick Brice, which she says will be a real Christmas treat.
Details can be found on the group’s website rldg.org.uk or their Facebook page Ross Library Development Group.
Last October the Gazette reported on the last engaging library talk where master up-cycler and artist Clifford Johnson delighted library-goers with an extraordinary tale of a 30 year project coming to fruition.
A polymath of the art world Clifford demonstrated that you don’t need fancy equipment to become a talented artist, just time and patience.
Clifford’s early attempts at sketching were put on display to demonstrate his learning process, and to prove that just because you can’t draw now doesn’t mean you can’t learn.
