A lorry fire was reported at 1.50pm today (Thursday, June 2nd) and the road was closed where the A49 meets with the A466, in Kings Thorn, Herefordshire.

Ross-on-Wye fire crew used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire, and police are currently managing the traffic; road closures are in place while the vehicle is waiting to be recovered, between Trump Lane and the A466. A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told the Ross Gazette that they hope to have the road re-opened as quickly as possible. Motorists are advised that there is currently heavy traffic north of the incident.
