Madam, Last Saturday, at a fund raising concert for SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Air Force and Families Association) given by Ross Choristers on behalf of the Mayor of Ross, a contingent of Sea Cadets from TS Ross were in attendance to greet members of the audience and provide an escort for the White Ensign, which was flown in the concert hall. May I give my warmest appreciation on behalf of Ross Choristers for the exemplary way the cadets presented themselves. The Mayor's escort, Cadet Petty Officer James Lilwall, marched to the Mayor's side with a smartness which would not have been out of place at a Royal Tattoo. And that can be said of all the cadets present. When, at the end, the ensign was hauled down and saluted to the strains of 'Sunset' their respect and precision brought the capacity audience to their feet in silent tribute. Ross Sea Cadets are a credit to themselves, to their CO, Lieutenant James Gitting, and to the town of Ross on Wye.

Brian Jackson, Ross.
