IN A VILLAGE not so far away, surrounded by the ruins of a mediaeval church, characters from fairytale land came out to play.
Wizards, clowns, ballerinas, lionesses, little red riding hood and a green man, a legendary figure representing rebirth, nature, and the cycle of growth were seen at this year’s Llanwarne village fete.
Visitors to the village’s St John the Baptist Ruined Church saw a traditional fete in progress and all the characters from fairy tales coming alive.
The fete also included a mini dog show, welly wanging, duck races and children’s race and a Tug of War competition.
One of the organisers, Margaret Lambert remarked that the annual fete is lucky, as it always seems to have the best weather.
