A teenager who died of natural causes after a lifetime battling epilepsy will be remembered at a special Family Fun Day in her home village.

Lydia Cole died suddenly on December 20th at her Walford home. Ice cream vans led to the way to Lydia’s funeral, which was attended by hundreds of family and friends on January 11th.

The inquest into the death of Lydia Cole took place on Monday, July 9th.

Lydia had suffered from epilepsy since birth and underwent surgery in July 2016 at Birmingham Children’s Hospital to help control her seizures.

Lydia’s family are determined to ensure Lydia’s memory lives on and the causes she was passionate about will be helped. They have set up the Lydia Cole Foundation to raise money. Lydia was a member of Monmouth Links and one suggestion the family will consider is helping members attend the Soul Survivors course which Lydia had enjoyed.

The Family Fun Day is on Saturday, July 28th which would have been Lydia’s birthday and will take place at Walford Village Hall from 12-3pm.
