Queues of children were excited to meet Father Christmas in Santa’s Grotto, which was in the Royal Hotel. They were able to talk to him about what they were hoping for, and they were given all given gifts from him.
The Lights Switch-On took place at the Market House at 4.00pm. They were turned on by brothers, Tom and Nic Garland, who were nominated by their Mum for their fundraising work.
The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity were also at the Fayre with demonstrating a helicopter cockpit where families could go inside and sit in the pilot’s seat.
Donkeys were also present this year, and many children flocked to stroke them and admire their festive tinsel covered bridles.
There were lots of food and drink stalls along the streets, as well as an array of opportunities to buy Christmas gifts, like paintings, jewellery and cards.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
