After weeks of worrying about the weather or if there would be enough interest in the revived pancake races in Ross the day was a fabulous success.

Organised by the members of the Association of Ross Traders the races which took place on a sunny Shrove Tuesday afternoon brought a lot of pleasure to lots of people.

Dozens of spectators lined the streets to watch retailers, hairdressers and estate agents, as well as youngsters and those in motability scooters, race or stagger up the hill towards the Market House. Full report in this week's Gazette.
