FLIPZ Gymnastics Club in Whitchurch has reached an exciting new milestone after members of its Development Squad competed in their first ever away event.
The team took part in the 2025 Autumn Rising Stars Competition, hosted by Baskervilles School of Gymnastics, marking a proud moment for the young gymnasts and the club as a whole.
The event offered an invaluable opportunity for the competitors to perform their routines and showcase the skills they’ve worked hard to develop in training. For many, it was their first time performing outside their home gym, making the experience both challenging and inspiring.
Head coach Laura Seal said it was a day filled with pride and achievement: “We’re incredibly proud of our gymnasts and how they represented Flipz. For many of them, this was a huge step in their gymnastics journey, and they approached it with confidence, enthusiasm, and real team spirit.”
The gymnasts were expertly prepared by lead coach Ione and the Development Coaching Team, whose dedication and commitment were evident throughout the event. Amelia and Flo represented Flipz as official judges, while Laura, Lily, and Lola provided coaching and encouragement on the day.
Flipz Gymnastics Club, which is based in Whitchurch, offers recreational gymnastics classes to children across the Ross area, helping them to build strength, discipline, and a love for the sport.
Earlier this year, the club introduced its first ‘competitive’ group, giving gymnasts the chance to test their skills in a more advanced setting.
Laura added: “This competition was a fantastic learning experience for everyone. It’s been wonderful to see how much the gymnasts have grown in confidence, and we’re really excited about what lies ahead for our Development Squad.”
Looking ahead, the club plans to continue building on this success, with hopes of entering more regional competitions in 2026 as their young gymnasts gain experience.
