Ross Juniors had great success hosting the McDonald’s Showcase Football Day on Saturday, September 1st.

Crowds of locals and visitors enjoyed watching Ross teams play many local teams in pre-season friendly games, with face painting, raffle stalls, and food and drink accompanying them.

One of the fabulous raffle prizes was the opportunity to win tickets to England vs Croatia at Wembley Stadium.

There was a McDonald’s football inflatable village, with six inflatable football games for all to try. The games encouraged partakers to practise their football skills, like shooting, defending, and their goal celebration.

Allan Hawkings volunteered at a goal keeping clinic, and there were skill sessions with Guinness World Record holder Ash Randall, a freestyle footballer. Additionally, they had the opportunity to be coached by the McDonald’s coaching team.

The day was also enjoyed by Dean Saunders, a former Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Wales footballer. Though kept busy signing football boots and shirts, Dean helped to coach children practicing their skills, and he also gave out the medals at the football ceremonies.
