HALF term activities return to Ross-on-Wye this October.

Ross Town Council is continuing to support local families with the provision of free activities during the school holidays.

Following the popularity of the activities at Ross Community Gardens and craft sessions at the Market House earlier this year, these return for the October half term with a twist as

all activities are free to attend and do not need to be booked in advance.

The schedule of activities begins on Tuesday, October 28 with a drop-in arts and crafts session at the Market House from 11am to 2pm run by Liz and Katie from The Wild Things.

The following day, Wednesday, October 2, a board game afternoon at the Corn Exchange venue from 12 to 3pm. Entry and use of the games remaining free.

On Thursday October 30, two children’s readings at the Library on Cantilupe Road at 10:30am and 12pm respectively.

Catherine Barr will do a reading of her book Wildlife Crossings before hosting a hedgehog focused craft activity. Marcus Pibworth will then do a session of storytelling at midday, this has been facilitated by Herefordshire Libraries.

On Friday, October 31, Ross Community Gardens, on Old Gloucester Road, will host a pumpkin trail hunt and craft activities from Herefordshire Wildlife Trust from 2pm to 4pm. Children will receive a keepsake at the end of the hunt.

During half-term, you can also take part in Herefordshire Council’s ‘Night at the Museum – Trapped in Time’ interactive game, which takes place during the day on October 28, 29 and 30 at the 17th century Old House Hereford, where rumours abound that exhibitions are coming to life.

The event is included as part of the entry fee and there’s no need to book. Performance times are10.30am, 11am, 11.30am or noon.
