Dear Editor,

I would like to inform your readers that, as of January 1st, 2017, Ross-on-Wye Horticultural Society will be known as the Ross-on-Wye Gardening Club.

This decision was made at our recent AGM by a majority of the members in an attempt to attract more people to join. It was felt that the old name was somehow elitist with the public thinking that they needed a comprehensive knowledge of horticulture.

This could not be further from the truth, we are a friendly group of like minded people who enjoy gardening.

So if your readers have an interest in any form of gardening whether it be a large garden, allotment, pots on a patio or even a windowbox, we meet at the Larruperz centre on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm. You will be made very welcome.
