The owners of the Tap House, Ross-on-Wye are hoping for donations to help keep the pub going. A crowdfunding page has been set up with the aim to raise £3000.
With certain contributions, donators can receieve rewards for their generosity. For example, in return for a £900 donation, you can earn a free mobile bar for an event. Contributing £30 offers the opportunity to earn drink tokens to use in the pub.
The owners said: “The Tap House is a unique building and one that would lend itself to the new purpose of a Micro Pub serving Real Ale on hand pump as well as a selection of Gins etc.
“The building has lain empty for two years, and with a leaky roof it has fallen into a state of dilapidation. We aim to bring life back to this old building and create a place where a drink can be enjoyed with good conversation without the noise associated with ’normal’ pubs.”
They describe how they hope they raise enough to ‘bring this part of community history back to life.’
The money is needed for heating, to pay for a new roof and also to provide disabled facilities.
One person who contributed said: “Local independent businesses need support, especially to get going. People can’t expect nice things to just pop up in their town without any input from themselves.”
