KEITH Sharples from Dragonfly Imaging will be one of the Judges on the selection committee for the Gazette Photographic Competition. Aside from the main competition, he will be presenting the Dragonfly Imaging 'Judges Choice' award in both sections of the competition. This is at the discretion of the individual judge and will have no effect on the main competition.
The 'Judge's Choice' award will be the winning picture specifically chosen by Mr Sharples. The Judge's Choice prize will be: one hour of a studio portrait shoot where the winner can bring either their family or friends to the shoot to be subjects. The winner will be taught how to take studio portraits, how to set the lights, what settings to use and how to pose etc and of course to take some pictures.
A DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera will be required. If the winner has their own then they can use it or one can be provided for use by Dragonfly Imaging. Keith will also take some pictures of the winner with their family or friends. The winner will receive the images on a disc to keep.
This is a prize money cannot buy and a fantastic opportunity for a young photographer to learn from an expert.
