MADAM, On behalf of the Ross and District Christian Aid Committee, may we pass on to your readers our heartfelt thanks for the generous response that local people made in Christian Aid Week May 12th-18th.

The gratifying sum of £7398 has been sent to Christian Aid. This surpasses the total raised in 2012. Over 300 donations were gift-aided, adding significantly to the total. Most of all, we thank the local collectors for their hard work, going house to house. We are indebted to Lucas Motorcycles, and GD Parker's for allowing envelopes to be dropped off. The house to house collection included Ross Town, Bridstow and Wilton, Brampton Abbotts, Peterstow, Walford, Linton, St Weonards, Aston Ingham and Upton Bishop.
