Goodrich took just 44 overs of cricket to maintain top spot in Marches Division 1, defeating neighbours Woolhope by 8 wickets.
Without any action for two weeks due to the British monsoon season, one could have been concerned for GCC's rustiness leading into the game. Doubts, were quickly cast aside as James "Mulligan" O'Brien, freshened up from some tlc abroad, sent middle stump tumbling from his first delivery. Mulligan proved untouchable down the slope only conceding 10 runs from his 10 overs including 8 maidens, eventually finishing with three wickets. At the other end Mark Bradford got into rhythm and had the ball moving sideways off the sodden track. It was quiet simply too much for the Woolhope batsmen as he went on to claim, a man of the match, five wickets for 22 runs from 12 overs. He was well supported behind the timbers by Eddie "Godfrey" Pyatt who claimed two stumpings and a catch. The Woolhope innings was eventually put out of its misery thanks to Rufus "Psycho" Davies, who after 28 balls of 'variation' bowling and various non-publishable expletives, finally sent down two straight deliveries to claim two LBW wickets. Woolhope only managing to reach 63 all out in 27 overs.
