Madam, Through the Ross Gazette I would like to express my family's very grateful thanks to the Paramedics in Ross and the staff at Hereford Hospital.
My daughter went into labour during the very bad weather and I tried in vain to drive her to hospital in Hereford myself.
Unfortunately I was forced to turn back and returned home to call an ambulance.
The paramedics arrived very promptly and the care my daughter received was second to none. They were very caring, very helpful and understood the problems we had had earlier in the afternoon.
The journey to Hereford was horrendous because of the weather, and we had to stop a few times to make sure that the vehicle was okay. Through all of this the paramedics remained very professional and considerate, reassuring my daughter there would be no problems - they would get her there in plenty of time.
On arrival at Hereford Hospital we were met by staff again who were very compassionate and caring and we received VIP care throughout the labour.
A very healthy Louisa was born a few hours later. There have been many moans and groans about the health care system in this county, but I can assure everyone reading this that it was second to none on all counts as far as we are concerned.
Thank you all very much for the excellent work you do. People seem to forget that even when they cannot get out to work, paramedics, doctors and nurses have to carry on regardless, sometimes at great risk to themselves on bad roads and in bad conditions.
Well done all for all your hard work at all hours of the day or night, especially keeping us all hale and hearty during the snow and ice we have had lately.
