Today the NHS is in the spotlight for all the right reasons. It is the 70th anniversary of when it began, and a celebration that it is still holding true to the original promise of free healthcare at the point of delivery for all, regardless of their individual wealth, or lack of it.
Two healthcare workers from the Wye Valley Trust, Emma Hill and Will Morris, are attending a ceremony at Westminster Abbey today, July 5th to celebrate the anniversary. The event will also mark the contribution NHS staff across the country have made to the service over the last seven decades.
To mark the national celebration on Thursday, staff, PFI partners, and volunteers have been invited to the NHS Big7 Tea events taking place at each of the Trust’s hospitals.
On Saturday, July 7th the Friends of Ross Community Hospital are holding a Strawberry Tea to celebrate the special anniversary.
There will be free parking for the event which is taking place between 2pm and 5pm.
The Ross Gazette would still like to hear from any readers who have a special reason to be grateful to the NHS. Please email [email protected]
