The Ross Leg Club is a unique social club which is also linked to GPs and the District Nursing Team in the Ross area to help people with any leg problems they may have.

The idea behind the club is to provide medical attention, information and support in a community setting. Reps from medical supplies companies also attend so they can share the latest innovations and products with the team.

Ross Leg Club meets every Thursday between 10am and 12.30pm at Henry Street Church. No appointments are necessary as it is run on a drop in basis.

Many of the volunteers who provide friendly welcome and cups of tea have become friends with those who rely on the service. Many of the patients have been coming to the Club for long periods of time as leg problems such as ulcers can take a long time to heal.

Jan Roberts was one patient who attends regularly with her assistance dog Whisper. She told the Gazette she has been attending the club for about four years.

Another patient is Antonia Ruck, who recently organised a very successful afternoon tea fundraiser for the club.
