Impassioned pleas from residents, relatives and staff at The Chestnuts appear to have been heard.

Following the shocking news, revealed by the Ross Gazette, of the imminent closure of the residential home, the paper has been inundated with people desperate to help in any way to back a campaign to save The Chestnuts. Full report in this week's Gazette.

Two members of staff, Lynne Hall and Janice Lusty are organising a peaceful gathering at the Market Place on Saturday to protest at the forthcoming closure. They would like anyone who is upset at the closure to join them at 12 noon on Saturday, July 16th.

They were among a group of staff and relatives who attended Ross Town Council meeting on Monday to ask Councillors if they were prepared to help in their fight.
