BY POPULAR demand the Hereford Police Choir is returning to St Mary’s Church, Ross-on-Wye to celebrate St George’s Day with another evening of fun from the 1940s to today.

The evening includes Stephen John Davis, West End Star and the Dean Male Voice Choir who will be joining them on stage.

Formed in 1957 when the Herefordshire Constabulary celebrated its centenary and a dozen officers, led by Brian Williams, formed a choir to sing at an anniversary event in Hereford Cathedral.

They enjoyed it so much they kept on singing and eventually opened their ranks to men from all walks of life. Today the choir is 65 strong.

The concert at St Mary’s Church, takes place on Saturday, April 25 at 7pm. Tickets priced at £10.
