Herefordshire Council are seeking to dispose of one of their assets; the Homs Road car park in Ross-on-Wye. In a public notice, it was stated that:?“The County of Herefordshire District Council intends to Transfer the open space and car park at Homs Road, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.”
Copies of the plans, which detail the location of the land concerned, can be obtained from the Council’s website:?www.herefordshire.gov.uk, or from Ross?Library during opening hours.
If anyone would like to submit an objection regarding the disposal they can write to Tony Feathersone, Head of Corporate Asset Management, Herefordshire Council, P O Box 4 Plough Lane, Hereford, HR4 0LE, or by email to afeatherstone@herefordshire. gov.uk.
The car park was one of the Assets considered by Ross Town Council in 2014, as a part of their Asset Transfers. Ross Town Council wanted to take over the running of all of the car parks in the town, but the only sites included as a proposed Asset Transfer package were Crossfields, Homs Road and Wilton Road.
The County Council told the Town Council that they required compensation in respect of the lost income from these car parks.
Because of this, Ross Town Council wanted to ensure the revenue generated from these car parks would be sufficient, and eventually the Asset package was declined.
