Residents of Kings Caple and lots of friends and visitors gathered together in the Old School Hall on Saturday, December 12th, to witness the grand unveiling of a wall hanging that has been lovingly created by the ladies of the Kings Caple Sewing Club.
Following the Queen’s Jubilee three years ago, the club was formed with the intention of producing something to mark the occasion; eventually a wall hanging, depicting various aspects of life in the idyllic Herefordshire village, was decided upon.
The Sewing Club consists of just seven members, Sheila Hook, Wendy Harris, Trisha Gregory, Heather Greenough, Margaret Amos, Kitty Parkin and Carole Graham, who have worked tirelessly on the project and have produced a visually stunning piece of artwork, which now hangs proudly in the hall for all to see.
A Christmas Fayre was held at the same time, which raised almost £400; the proceeds will be going towards the upkeep of the Old School Hall and the newly formed Kings Caple Heritage Group.
