IN honour of Phil Johnson, a £1,000 donation was made to the Motor Neurone Disease Association in his memory.

Phil was a well-loved employee of Morrisons, who had worked at the store for many years. The money raised by Ross Lions and the Morrisons store in Ross-on-Wye supports the association’s ultimate aim into finding a cure and respite for this disease.

Phil Clayton, the local representative of MNDA received the cheque last week and stated the funds would be of great help to the support group which had recently been set up for families specifically in Herefordshire.

He expressed his gratitude to the people of Ross for their generosity, which was typified by a passing Morrisons customer adding a further £10 in cash to the £1,000 cheque total.
