Homes and businesses all around Ross were affected by rising flood water this morning after torrential rain fell at about 6.30am.

Pensioners in Smallbrook Gardens were evacuated at about 8am this morning as flood water rose in their homes. Several shops in Gloucester Road have lost stock as water flooded their basements. Brookend was seriously hit especially Lorraine's the hairdressers and many people have commented that it reminded them of the flooding Ross used to experience before the new Flood Alleviation Scheme was installed.

New homes in Woodedge were also affected and council officials were still on the scene at 1pm today.
