One of yesterday's (Tuesday, April 2nd) stab victims was treated at Hereford County Hospital before being flown by air ambulance to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The victim was just one of the many patients seen at the County Hospital's A&E department in what is a continuous extremely busy period.
Since the weekend, around 170 patients have been admitted to hospital - well above the normal figures for this time of the year - and the A&E department has seen 840 patients during this period.
As a result, the hospital has had to cancel a number of operations and is urging people to seek alternatives to A&E and only visit the department if they have been involved in an accident or if they need emergency treatment.
