Investigations are still taking place regarding work which saw the removal of trees in a Ross-on-Wye Conservation Area, adjacent to Metcalf Close and Rudhall Brook, which is next to Ross Health and Fitness.

The work took place in February, and investigations are still taking place as to the legitimacy of the work carried out.

At the recent Ross Town Council meeting, on Monday, April 9th, speaking as Chairman of Planning and Development Committee, Councillor Caroline Utting said: “We are still following up the removal of trees in Metcalf Close. We are trying to find the paper trail of decision making.”

Cllr Utting previously said that “the Town Council Planning Committee will be considering where the replacement trees should be planted at its next meeting. As it will most likely be on land owned by the Town Council, it can liaise with BBLP to ensure the work takes place.”

She added: “I’m not aware a time limit has been placed on when the work to tidy up the Metcalf Close site must be carried out.”
