Arts Council England is investing £106,941 in Rural Media Company’s plans to create a new digital arts hub in the heart of Herefordshire.
It is one of three organisations in the West Midlands to be successful in the latest round of investment from the Arts Council’s small capital programme.
The Digital Arts Support Hub will be professionally equipped to support local artists and cultural organisations to create new work using digital technology.
It will offer access to broadcast standard post-production facilities including graphics, grading, animation and SFX to fine cut productions.
Artists and cultural organisations using the hub will receive guidance and support from experts at the Rural Media Company to present their work online.
Nic Millington, CEO, Rural Media Company said: “This kind of investment shows a genuine commitment to developing creative media production in rural counties, and is a real boost to our goal of creating a digital arts hub for the Midlands. There’s so much creative talent in this area and with improved access to expertise and equipment more artists and cultural organisations will be able to innovate within the digital space and crucially build new audiences for their work and reach new markets.”
